Eternal youth
La Petite Marquise was created in the 1950's. After expanding considerably over 20 years, Mr Maillot sold his business to his employee, Michel Berrué. The company thus took off while retaining its traditional style of production.
By relying on an ancestral know-how inherited from its master pastry chefs and chocolate makers, La Petite Marquise has earned itself a solid reputation over the years through its specialities and the communicative passion of its director.
The name La Petite Marquise is an integral part of "Quernon d’Ardoise"; a delicacy created in 1966 and awarded a blue ribbon by its Masters in 1990 during the Intersuc trade show, an award for the best product of the year in its category. It quickly became a local reference with an influence beyond Anjou. Today it is continuing its path from Europe to reach Japan and China in the near future.
Michel Berrué knew how to shape a universe of excellence and pleasure driven on by his passion. Because when it comes to chocolate, we're talking about passion. The producer's passion, who looks for the best cocoa flavours from plantations from around the world that are an invitation to travel. The passion of a man who mixes aromas to make unique chocolates where the crunch blends with the most melt-in-the-mouth ganaches. The passion of the taster who puts words to sensations and subtle flavours and who talks about chocolate as if he was talking about a good wine.
Today I am proud to succeed Michel Berrué and to add my contribution to ensuring this adventure continues. In an increasingly fast, changing world, I will see to it that La Petite Marquise's main principles of authenticity and creativity are hung onto.
So follow our Little Marquise on her new trip, one that is full of flavours.
